Materials needed to create a DIY Photo Stand using Toilet Paper Roll and Washi Tape

Instructions

  • This time, cut the toilet paper a bit longer.
  • Stick washi tape all around the roll, vertically or horizontally. This time you don't need to cover the inside.
  • We'll need another piece of cardboard, to fill the hole of the drum. Take a spare piece of cardboard and put the toilet paper on top. Mark the inside of the roll with a pen, so you know where to cut.
  • Cut the cardboard along the circle.
  • Stick the circle with washi tape.
  • Push the circle through the toilet paper until it reaches the edge.
  • Pin the push pins like little feet, so the drum doesn't roll over when we put the photo print in.
  • Cut a line on top of the drum, that's where you'll put the photo print
  • Put the photo print in the line.

Materials you'll need for one photo stand:

  • Toilet paper roll
  • Washi tape
  • Marker
  • Cutter
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  • Measure the height of the washi tape.
  • Cut the toilet paper roll the same height as the washi tape.
  • Stick washi tape all around the roll. Don't forget the inside of the roll, too. You can use the same washi tape, or play it up with a different color.
  • Cut two small lines on the ring, one opposite the other. Make sure they're a bit in diagonal, so the photo print leans back a bit, which looks better.
  • Put the photo print in the small lines.

Tip: You can use metal spray paint instead of washi tape to customise the toilet roll, and/or add stickers to it.

Materials you'll need for one photo stand:

  • Toilet paper roll
  • Washi tape
  • Four push pins
  • Marker
  • Cutter
  • Ruler
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  • Place a ruler over the toilet paper to mark a straight line, where your photo will be placed once the stand is done. The line needs to be about ten and half centimeters long to hold a square M print.
  • Cut on this line with the scissors.
  • Stick washi tape all around the roll. Don't forget the edges of the roll. 😉
  • Cut the washi tape following the same line you've already cut. Fold the tape inside, covering the edges. Add more tape if necessary.
  • Pin two push pins on each side of the roll (both ends) like feet. This will support the photo stand.

Tip: You can use metal spray paint instead of washi tape to customize the toilet roll, and/or add stickers to it.
